COMSOL Multiphysics is a cross-platform finite element analysis, solver and multiphysicssimulation software. It allows conventional physics-based user interfaces and coupled systems of partial differential equations (PDEs). COMSOL provides an IDE and unified workflow for electrical, mechanical, fluid, acoustics, and chemical applications.
Beside the classical problems that can be addressed with application modules, the core Multiphysics package can be used to solve PDEs in weak form.An API for Java and LiveLink for MATLAB and Autodesk Inventor may be used to control the software externally. An Application Builder can be used to develop independent custom domain-specific simulation applications. Users may use drag-and-drop tools (Form Editor) or programming (Method Editor). COMSOL Server is a distinct software for the management of COMSOL simulation applications in companies.Several modules are available for COMSOL,[1] categorized according to the applications areas of Electrical, Mechanical, Fluid, Acoustic, Chemical, Multipurpose, and Interfacing.

The graphics cards listed above have been rigorously tested forcompatibility with COMSOL Multiphysics. Please note, however, that other AMD or NVIDIA graphics cards may also be compatiblewith COMSOL Multiphysics. Graphics cards that belong to the samemodel series as one of the cards listed above are more likely tobe compatible with COMSOL Multiphysics.
* For hardware acceleration on Linux, use proprietary drivers from you graphics card vendor, such as NVIDIA or AMD, otherwise use COMSOL software rendering. The Nouveauvideo driver is only supported for software rendering.
