A Media Driver Is Missing Windows 10 Install

  1. Reinstall or Update Driver in Device Manager Boot to the Windows 10 desktop, then launch Device Manager by pressing Windows key + X and clicking Device Manager. Expand DVD/CD-ROM drives.
  2. I can boot into Windows 10 installation media. Click install, then I get a warning that says 'Load Driver' and in the window it says 'A media driver your computer needs is missing. This could be a DVD, USB, or Hard disk driver.' I've downloaded all of the AMD drivers from their website. I've downloaded all of the Gigabyte X370 drivers.
  3. Re: Windows USB Clean Install - A media driver your computer needs is missing Jump to solution I was just curious because I just reinstalled windows using a 3.0 stick in a 3.0 USB port on my 3670.
  4. This post may be early. Downloaded Win 10 20H2 iso, installed it on a USB 2 key and as soon as it loads up the installation files, it's looking for a missing driver (media). Switching USB sockets make no difference (and older solution).

It prompts me for a 'Missing Media Driver' that my PC needs, but obviously I don't have it.A media driver your computer needs is missing windows 10 install fix
I find it hard to believe that this is a corrupt iso file, since I downloaded it from the official source... and then redownloaded it to be absolutely sure that it wasn't corrupt. Obviously, it could be that since a second download doesn't necessarily mean it isn't corrupt twice, but my internet is very slow and it can take up to 8 hours to finish the download, so I want to minimize the number of downloads I do.

Missing media drivers is a common error encountered during the Windows 10 installation. This error is mainly due to a lack of the required USB drivers to enable your USB and your hard disk to “interact” for Windows installation. Does anyone know what could be happening here?

Edit: I saw the other post on this board about this, but I don't think that my download is bad, but I also couldn't find a hash to test against, so I can't 100% verify it.
